If I had a Million Dollars...eShakti Edition & Discount

Welcome to the second edition of "If I had a Million Dollars..."! Ever since I received the Gold Fish Block Print Dress I wore to Christmas dinner, I've been keeping my eyes on eShakti's site for sales and new merch. I've got so much of their stuff bookmarked that I thought I'd feature my picks for this week's IIHAMD! Here are some of my faves:

Little Black Dresses:
scallophemrosetteblackwhite

Showcase the girls:

Prints:

9. Leafy Flat Print Retro Frock, &79.95. 10. Graphic Print Shirt Dress, $59.95. 11. Cat-eye Glasses Mock Two Piece Dress, $59.95. 12. Graphic Print Spagetti Strap Dress, $49.95

The fact that you can get all of these gorgeous, on-trend dresses in almost any size, (they've expanded many looks to include 4-6x!) is one of the main reasons I love eShakti so much.

#1, the felted wool scallop hemmed dress, is one that's been on my radar for ages; I was torn between that one and the gold fish dress when I was picking out my dress to review. It's such a simple and classic silhouette, and the fabric looks so rich. I love the leather-look ribbing on the sleeve and the girlish touch of the hem. And how cute is #3, with the sheer sweetheart neckline and tulip bottom!

For summer, #4, the blue corset style dress would work for so many different occasions, and who can resisted the subtle sex appeal of the bustier-look top? I'm not one to wear strapless, but if I could, #8, the blue strapless dress, would be mine in a second! So easy to dress up or down with the right accessories!

eShakti does such beautiful prints, and I'm in love with all four of the dresses in the 'Printed' section. I can already see myself in #9 with a green cardigan and brown belt and heels, and the red print is the perfect double duty dress - to work with a cardigan, and then wear it bare armed for a summer night. I'm dying to order again, and it's going to be a real battle to decide which dress I want!

If you've been eyeing up a certain piece on eShakti, now's the perfect time to take the plunge - eShakti is offering my readers a 20% discount valid until February 28th, 2011, with the code FFFASHION2011 ! *

Happy shopping, ladies!

eShakti Review and Giveaway!

Hi everyone! I'm back as promised with my Christmas day outfit! In my family, we don't really make a big deal over Christmas Eve, but Christmas day is a different story! I spent all morning in the kitchen with Mom cooking yummy dishes to serve when the entire family came over for dinner that night. It seemed fitting to wear this A-line Gold Fish Block Print Dress courtesy of eShatki to dinner, it made me feel like Susie Homemaker!

A-line is not a silhouette I much wear, but I'm so happy I picked it when eShakti contacted me to review a piece from their website. If you haven't heard of eShakti, they're an online retailer based in Seattle, Washington and Chennai, India which carries their entire line (which is quite extensive) in every size from 0-26! Even better than that, you are give the option to enter your measurements for a perfect fit, or even to customize any garment for a small fee - You can take up hem lines, add sleeves, or even change a neckline!

I didn't make any customizations to my dress, but I did give them my measurements to be sure of a perfect fit. I sometimes have issues the bust of empire-waisted dresses like this one being too small and snug because of the girls. I made sure to include my bra size when ordering to make sure the bust area would fit.  When my package came in the mail (in only a few days I might add), I could not have been happier with the results of the dress. It's made of a really rich, thick cotton fabric, and the gold fish print is so fun and whimsical; maybe it's the Pisces in me that makes me love it! It truly fits like a glove - a perfect fit in the bust, and the neckline is modest enough but still shows the tiiiniest amount of cleavage. Like I said, I don't really wear A-line skirts but I love how this looked belted with this gold-buttoned black cardigan. For this 50's style dress, the neckline and skirt are a perfect balance.

As soon as I chose it, I knew exactly how I'd style this dress. The cropped three-quarter sleeved cardi matches perfect with it's gold buttons, and I no one has to tell me twice when it comes to piling on the gold accessories! Gold rings, bangles, and of these gorgeous dangly earrings completed the look.

Cardigan: Attention
Tights: Hue
Pumps: Preview via Nordstrom Rack
Bracelets: Old Navy
Love Knot Ring: Etsy
Statement Ring: Christmas present from my brother; from the Union Square Holiday Market
Earrings: H&M

Some of you may remember my eShaktiphobia post - I had discovered eShakti's site but was hesitant to order because I wasn't sure of the quality of the fabric and how well these custom garments would fit. I wouldn't have any hesitations now, and actually have a few more pieces in mind that I'd like!

E-Shatkiphobia

Ever since stumbling across E-Shakti's website a few months ago, I'm constantly tempted to order something. If you've never heard of E-Shakti, it's an online boutique that not only offers EVERY style  in sizes 0-26W (and there's hundreds), but allows you to give measurements and customize any garment you want. Love that dress but hate the neckline? Change it! Add sleeves for more coverage or change the length of a dress or skirt.

As a not only a plus but also a busty girl, I'm sure you can all see why E-Shakti is so tempting. There's nothing more annoying that finding and adorable piece of clothing only to have to put it back on the rack because of neckline that's too low for my girls or the chest is too tight. And sizing up hardly works, then you end up with a bust that fits and a waist that's drowning. Terrible!

I've been sorely tempted to order from E-Shakti, and their cute designs haven't helped me curb the urge at all. Take a look at a few of my favorites of the moment:

FF_ES_Yellow

I don't know why, but I love this yellow knit dress. The shape of the collar give it a retro, 80's feel in my opinion, the yellow is so happy, and it just looks COMFY! Add some tights, boots and a belt and this dress is my shit.

FF_ESK_Grey

Here's a dress where I would take advantage of the customization options. I'd definitely add sleeves, either three-quarter or long ones, and I might even change the neckline to the "wide scoopneck" option. I figure with long sleeves it's ok to show a littttle cleave ;) But even on it's own, I love the black cummerbund, and the silhouette is so office chic.

esk_Pink

Dresses are always my go-to section on any website, but I checked out E-Shakti's collection of top and tunics and once again I was not disappointed. I love everything about this tunic tank - the gathering on the neckline and small pleats on the bottom are adorable and the embellishment is extravagant enough without going overboard. Add the tie belt and the soft pretty color, and it's perfection.

esk_victorian

This top is slowly melting my ice cold heart. I've always had a thing for Victorian/antique looking details and this top has just enough without making it look costume-y. The sleeve, the scallop detail, plus the cinched waist? Love.

esk_graphic

I love a graphic print, and this one doesn't disappoint. I especially like it because it looks like the V of the neckline looks high enough that I wouldn't even have to put a tank underneath for cleavage control (almost unheard of in my wardrobe). Paired with a bright belt or cardi, this would be super cute :)

esk_lace

Last but not least, this gorgeous LBD with champagne lace top. I love, love, love this dress and seriously considered ordering it for a wedding I attended in early October. The lace top is is just so pretty, and the pleated cummerbund and pin detail just make it even more so. I love the skirt too, the gathers at the waist would be so flattering.

Now, all raving and lusting aside. I'm still hesitant to order. If I knew for sure the quality was top-notch and the clothes were what I imagined, I wouldn't think twice, especially when everything, including the LBD are under $100. But since I don't, I'd much rather spend it on something else I know will be worth the money (STILL lusting for that sequined cardi from Old Navy...next paycheck!)

Have you guys ever ordered from E-Shakti?? Were the clothes what you expected?
