Get the look: Cardigan: Old Navy. Tank: H&M (similar). Skinnies: Old Navy. Scarf: Kohl's (similar). Wedges: Steve Madden via DSW. Sunnies: Kate Spade. Watch: Michael Kors.

The colors, Duke, the colors!!!

Remember that old popsicle commercial? No? Oh well.

Yesterday was Everybody, Everwear's neon day, so how perfectly appropriate is this outfit I wore out for dinner and drinks in Hoboken on Saturday? This scarf, which I picked up on a whim at Kohl's, has quickly become my favorite and is practically a staple in my wardrobe at the moment. I'm wearing it right now in fact -  it goes with everything! For those nights when I'm not in the mood to go out in a dress or anything all that revealing, an outfit like this is my go to - A few pops of color, an interesting tank, and a cute heel amp up the funk factor for a basic outfit that looks just as appropriate at the bar as it does at the office (yup, recycled this outfit on Monday!).

Better late than never.

IMG_7512IMG_7531IMG_7532

I've been trying to get this post up for a week, easy. This are gettin' crazy around these parts, what with my show opening in 8 days (ah!) and all. Lots of lines, songs, and dances to perfect!

In anycase, this outfit is comfortable and cute, perfect to go from work all day to rehearsal all night. In fact, I'm wearing it's black-dress-burgundy-tights-same-scarf cousin as we speak.

Do you love my new Steve Madden Graanie boots, a Christmas present from the boyfriend, as much as I do?! I've been wearing them with everything, from skirts and dresses to jeans and leggings. They're the best way to toughen up a feminine outfit in my opinion. And aren't they the most perfect footwear for one Ms. Penelope Pennywise?? Ah, the beauty of multitasking.

Oh, and that ring? The one I wear in almost every post? Lost. Caput. Gone forever :*(

I got nothing.

IMG_4554IMG_4546IMG_4558IMG_4561IMG_4537

Well, hi! Hope you're all having a good week so far. Happy hump day as they say (though that phrase always bring something much more lurid to my mind than simply Wednesday...)! You may have seen me in this dress over on Kim's blog in one of her Full Figured Fashion Week recap posts. We met up on Saturday for lunch and a bit of shopping at Times Square's huge Forever21. I loved this simple outfit so much, I had to recycle it for work and a mini date on Monday!

Would you believe I got this dress for a steal at Target? It's the printed version of the green dress I've seen bloggers like Kendi and Liz looking adorable in. Can I say, if you are well endowed like I am, you should be running to Target to pick this baby up. Why are you still here?? But really, this sort of surplice neckline usually does not work for me - at the very least I'm always having to wear tanks underneath to keep it PG. The neckline on this dress is cut a little higher though, and as a result becomes the perfect v-neck! I'm contemplating snatching up the green version as well! I'm wearing an XXL, which is sold out online, but if you're not as busty as I am you'll have no problem with a smaller size :)

Robin Hood, Men in Tights

IMG_4407IMG_4409IMG_4395IMG_4389IMG_4377

So I have a complex with this shade of kelly green, especially when it's a dress. Everytime I pair it with something brown, like the waist belt I wanted to wear, I feel very Robin Hood-esque. Weird I know. That's why I decided to leave the tie belt on this dress rather than replacing it with a real belt, and I tried to keep the brown to a minimum by wearing my trusty light brown chain embellished sandals. I think I've safely steered clear of Robin Hood chic, at least this time.

IMG_4420IMG_4423IMG_4425

I rediscovered this dress in my closet recently; I picked it up from Torrid probably 3 years ago now. I remember why I loved it so much! It's made of the softest, most comfortable cotton, and the cutouts at the neckline keep it airy, even in the 97 degree weather we had yesterday. Today's supposed to be even hotter...What I wouldn't do for a day off, a lounge chair by the pool, and a cocktail!

Dress: Torrid
Sandals: Steve Madden
Watch: Syms
Bangles: Old Navy
Necklace: Chrdesigns (more on that later!)
Earrings: Katherine's
Ring: La Casita

I also wanted to talk really quick about a product I came across recently. I know many of us battle with the dreaded chub-rub, and I've said before that I usually rock the oh-so-sexy bike shorts or Spanx under my dresses when bare-leg season rolls around. I've tried Monistat Chafing Relief Gel, and though it works, I hated the fact that you had to rub it on with your hands and get the gooeyness all over your fingers. Yuck!!

Enter Secret Shield by Skindura.

Description: "Protection no one knows you’re wearing but you. This non greasy, invisible balm provides long lasting prevention from skin on skin friction. Made of 100% veggie derived ingredients, (no petroleum, no animal by products, no silicone). But it also helps soothe skin that is already chapped and chafed so your skin will be good as new in no time."

And Secret Shield lives up to it's description! I smoothed it on before I left the house for work - with  no mess and no hand-washing because of the convenient twist tube applicator. Through an 8 hour work day and then an hour+ of shopping (lots of walking!) I reapplied twice, and experienced no irritation at all! Obviously the product doesn't prevent your thighs from rubbing together, but it creates a barrier that eliminates friction and allows your thighs to glide right past each other. In the 97 degree heat and humidity we had yesterday I have to tell you I was extremely impressed with this product. I'll definitely be using it on a regular basis - I love being able to go about my day without worring about Spanx rolling down or bike shorts riding up! This is going to be my savior when it comes to beach time and running around in a bathing suit!

Have you tried Secret Shield, or any other anti-chafing product? Let us know your experience!

Goal

IMG_4003IMG_4009IMG_4018IMG_4012IMG_4021IMG_4046

Coming back from a long weekend is so hard, isn't it! I'm in vacation mode and I'm not ready to come back to work!! Especially with the beautiful summer weather we had all weekend, who could blame me for wanting to head to the beach instead of the office??

This wrap top is item numero uno from my latest ASOS order. If you're thinking of ordering this top, you should know that the wrap pieces are not attached to the shirt - so the pieces across my bust are not sewn down. This is good because you arrange then as high or low as you want, but if you're moving around a lot you'd have to keep fixing them. I was just at the office and supermarket so I didn't really have an issue with that. Same goes for the back, the wrap piece is not sewn down, but it's good in my opinion because you can pull the fabric higher up for more back coverage.  The top definitely emphasizes my bust, something I usually am not a fan of, but I still felt really comfortable and pretty wearing this top to work and running some errands. I think if I wear my hair down next time it won't be as emphasized. Speaking of hair, do you like my blogger bun? It's officially my I-didn't-have-time-to-wash-my-hair-this-morning style. I think it looks way more put together than a plain old ponytail!

Top: ASOS Curve
Jeggings: Old Navy
Sandals: Steve Madden
Bracelets: Mom's
Earrings, necklace and detachable pendant: Premier Designs
Ring: Vintage

The second piece I ordered from ASOS Curve was the cobalt blue Flippy Jersey Dress. It's very pretty, but I decided to return. On my figure, the high neckline combined with the shorter length was not flattering. One someone less busty, though, I think it'd be really cute!

Number three was the green Ruched Waist Shift Dress. This dress is absolutely beautiful, though it is a tiny bit snug as the fabric is chiffon and has no stretch. I decided I'm going to keep it though. Fitting into that dress for Panagias this summer is my weight loss goal. It's only a little tight so it's a very attainable goal! As of right now I'm down 3.2 lbs. Keep truckin'!

In my Easter bonnet...

Ok, so I may not be wearing a bonnet, or head gear of any sort, but you know I'll use any reason/excuse/holiday to dress up in something pretty!

IMG_3397IMG_3376IMG_3388IMG_3403IMG_3407

Besides a few rain showers throughout the day, we had a beautiful Easter Sunday here in NJ. Easter is one of my favorite holidays because all of my extended family and close family friends come over for a delicious meal in the Greek tradition - that means roasted lamb! Though we didn't go all out with the whole lamb roasting on the outdoor skewer this year (because my grandfather passed back in November, holidays are a bit more subdued than usual) my dad still roasted up the lamb in the oven with potatoes, as well as a traditional youvetsi (ours was made with goat), spanakopita, tzatziki, and tons of different sides, salads, wine (of course) and appetizers to go around. Thank goodness this dress is flowy because I was stuffed by the day's end!

Pretty sure I'm wearing all the gold bangles I own and then some!

IMG_3400IMG_3371

I'll be the first to say that the Forever21+ line can sometime put out truly garish creations (like this one), but when they do it right, they do it right. I fell in love when I saw this dress on their site and I snapped it up immediately. I wasn't the only one, because it sold out in just a few days! This dress is a 2x and fits comfortably and loosely. If I had sized down I could have gotten away with wearing it sans the turquoise tank underneath, but I don't mind the loose flowy fit the 2x gives me, so it's a win either way.

This necklace was a fun little creation - It's a long strand doubled up, and I hooked this removeable pendant through a loop and over the second strand to make a short necklace. Cute right! I like that this pendant can be removed because different chains and lengths will lend it to many different looks!

Sunshine and tatas

IMG_3230
IMG_3244IMG_3209IMG_3254IMG_3246

First bare-legged day of the year! Yes, they may be blindingly white, and yes, my razor got a great workout this morning, but when it's near 70 with blue skies and sunshine there's not a soul that could make me wiggle into a pair of tights! I did wear a pair of bike shorts from F21 underneath to conquer the dreaded chub rub though. I often wear Spanx for that reason in the summer as well.

I'm still loving this dress from F21 (see it remixed here). All the crazy colors in it make it super versatile - I'm planning to wear it with a green or yellow cardi at one point, and definitely with my optimistic shoes :) I might do a bit of DIY tailoring and take in the straps a tiny bit because the front of the dress kept falling down and showing off my bra - good thing I chose my trusty nude one today.

IMG_3260IMG_3271IMG_3261IMG_3262

Speaking of bras - if you're a big busted girl like me you know how ridiculously difficult it is to find a bra that's comfortable, supportive, and doesn't look like it belonged to your grandmother in the 1920's. Now, I tried different bra's for years without ever being completely satisfied - I'd always have some qualm with whatever bra I wore whether it be that it rode up in the back, spillage in the cups (or 4 boob, as I call it), or that I suddenly seemed to have torpedos for tatas.  Enter the Wacoal Elegence Hidden Underwire Minimizer Bra. I have been wearing this bra style for about six years and have never looked back. For everyday wear, it's the ultimate, end-all be-all minimizer bra, and it goes up to a size 44G. Yes, it's a pricey purchase at about $60, but I look at it this way - I'd spend $60 on a dress I really loved or on a pair of killer heels; but I won't wear either of those things as much as I'd wear this bra.

As wonderful as this bra is, don't ever underestimate the importance of wearing the proper bra size. When I finally got a professional bra fitting (and was told I had been wearing the wrong size, both cup and band), it changed how I looked and felt in my clothes completely. A professional bra fitting is something every woman should do!
