Hey guys, I've been a bit under the weather for the last few days; it seems I've caught the nasty cold bug that's been going around :( So bear with me until I can muster the strength to wear a decent outfit (let alone get shots of it)!! But 'til then, take a peek at my fun manicure of the moment!
OPI Black Shatter (a gift from my brother's lovely girlfriend) over Sally Hansen Pacific Blue. So awesome!

Happy Birthday to Me!!
Yup, today I turn 24 years old! Although boyfriend tries to tell me that this means I've officially transitioned from early to mid twenties, I refuse to accept this fact! I tell him that he's just trying to make himself feel better for robbing the cradle (he's 28 lol)!
Lil' sneak peak of my favorite accessory to my birthday outfit - more Sally Hansen nail strips, this time in leopard!
Stay tuned for my birthday outfit (the work version) tomorrow, and for the party outfit coming Sunday!

Favorites
You know that one piece you have in your wardrobe that goes with everything? This top is mine.
Seriously, pretty sure I could pair it with any color and it would work. Like with my orange statement necklace for example. That one came out of left field but I love extra pop of color in this already colorful ensemble. When he saw this outfit my coworker Dave said, "So, what matches here?" I say, whatever!!
Since I've clearly crossed the "over the top" line, why not pile on some of my favorite accessories while I'm at it? I've been mixing up gold bangles a lot lately and don't plan to stop anytime soon...especially with the arrival of a special gift c/o ShopBop via an awesome giveaway from The Curvy Fashionista!
Top: Macy's
Cardigan: Nordstrom Rack
Jeans: F21
Heels: Target
Necklace: Sister's roomate
Bracelets: Old Navy, H&M, and one purchased in Greece
Ring: Old Navy
Have you guys seen Sally Hansen Salon Effects nail strips? They're the poor man's alternative to Minx, which has been getting a lot of press because of celebrities like Beyonce, Katy Perry, and Lady Gaga. I saw them when I was picking up some shampoo at my local Harmon's and decided to give them a go.
The strips, which come in ten different sizes to fit your nails perfectly, were more a little more difficult to apply then I thought they would be. The fit on my nail bed was good, but they were a bit more delicate than I anticipated, and when I tried to stretch the first one over my thumb, I was a bit too enthusiastic and ripped the poor sucker. Once I got the hang of it though, it was pretty easy. These glittery strips, a cousin to Deborah Lippmann's Happy Birthday, are fun and super bright, and though a little over the top for everyday, they'd be fun for a special occasion. At $7 and change, these are too pricey for me to consider for use very often. But they are great since they're odor free and there's not drying time involved. I'd definitely recommend them for use when traveling and such. That'd be one way to stay amused during a long flight!
