A scandal and Giveaway #2!
Not the best pictures I've ever taken, but I really loved this skirt I picked up at Target and wanted to share this outfit. I had a bit of a fail this morning, I really wanted to wear my yellow pumps but I could only find one and for the life of me couldn't find the other! Swear to god my bedroom has an appetite for shoes, I am forever trying to hunt down some shoe or other's pair. I also find this is the case with my washer machine/dryer - things go in and they never come out again.
Top: Macy's
Skirt: Target
Shoes: DSW
Watch: Syms
Bangles: Forever21
Necklace: New York and Company
You've seen this shirt a few times before, but never quite like this...
If you're wondering, the scandal is how short this skirt is! I may have been pushing it in the 'work appropriate' apparel department...like that ever stopped me!
On to the good stuff...
Giveaway #2, courtesy of amarie!
I came across amarie (or actually, she, Andrea, the brains behind the shop, came to me) a few years ago. Andrea was an alum of my sorority, and came back to the house to share her new business with us and host a purse party! I immediately fell in love with her large hobo tote in a beautiful gold snakeskin print, and knew I had to have it even on my college budget! I still have the bag years later - It's such a great size, I've used it as an overnight bag, for travelling, even as a book bag during school. Check out some of her designs!
Andrea's agreed to help me celebrate by offering a $25 gift certificate to amarie to one lucky reader!
To enter:

Sweet and Simple
I'm not usually one to leave the house without lots of accessories - belts, necklaces, bracelets, rings; but sometimes the simpler the better. This dress with the beaded neckline is an old favorite, and I often find I don't need much for it to look great. My simple vintage pendant, a few bracelets, and a pop of yellow on my feet was all I needed on this gorgeous day!
Dress: American Rag via Macy's
Sandals: Chinese Laundry via DSW
Necklace: Vintage
Bracelets: Aldo Accessories
On an unrelated note, ASOS has been baller status when it comes to shipping lately! I got my order in just five days! Pop in tomorrow to see how I style one of my new pieces :)

"Those are some optimistic shoes..."
"Well, those shoes sure are optimistic!" I got that comment more than once yesterday at work while strolling around the office in these cheery yellow jellies. The morning started out bright warm, and I just couldn't resist them, but perhaps I should have looked at the weather forecast? As you can see, it was quite damp by the time I left work! But could you blame me for wearing them? I've been waiting since early winter when I picked them up for $10 on sale at DSW! The bows kill me!
Once again I'm hopefully channeling spring/summer, especially with this adorable sailboat printed top (which is still available!). I love how it looks like someone painted them on with watercolors, it makes for such a whimsical pattern. It's also got an an exposed zipper at the back neckline which I totally forgot to take a picture of, but it looks really cool!
Top: Forever 21+
Jeans: Forever 21+
Sandals: Chinese Laundry via DSW
Necklace: Lane Bryant (similar here)
Bangles Forever 21
Rings: H&M
Polish: American Apparel L Espirit
I laid in bed last night with the window cracked, listening to the rain pattering outside my window and thunder rolling. Thunderstorms are my favorite!

Here comes the bride...
Hey all! It's been a crazy weekend. I was up in Massachusetts from Thursday to Saturday for the wedding of a good friend of mine in college; couldn't believe the day finally came as he's the last person we thought we'd see tie the knot! But it was a great weekend and his bride looked absolutely beautiful :)

Aren't they cute!
In all the craziness I didn't really get time to shoot outfit pics, but here's a good head to toe shot someone snapped of me and my bestie Spesh (short for Special Dave...because he is a special boy).
Dress: JCPenny (no longer available)
Belt: NewYork & Company (no longer available)
Shoes: DSW
Cuff: Snagged from my sister
Ring (not pictured): Re/Dress
Polsh: China Glaze Stroll

Tribal
Thank goodness for a nice day! It's been raining non stop here and I thought I'd have to do pics inside again. Fortunately I caught the last bit of sun!

Monocromatic outfit today. Though I like to wear a lot of color, it's not usual for me to be in all black or black and white. Dunno why - maybe my subconscious is stuck on that old "black is slimming" idea.
There was a time, probably around 13 or 14 years old, that I actually had to ban myself from buying black, red or grey! My closet was full of it and I knew I needed to change it up.
I had a red sweatshirt that I wore to DEATH back then! To this day, if I find myself wearing jeans and a red sweatshirt of some sort, I still feel like I'm back in those years.
But on to the present! Today I'm wearing a cute printed tank with a old black cardi from yearssss ago. Hard to tell but it's got black sequin detail around the front collar and shoulder. The jeans are Hydraulic skinnies, though by the stretch in these things I'd say they're more like jeggings - they're from last year, so I guess no one was calling them that yet. They're super comfy in anycase, even if the wash isn't my favorite. I definitely want a pair of black jeggings, and maybe a pair of dark wash ones as well. I love wearing them with heels, especially my go-to patent peep toe pumps.

I love silver jewelry and this bold cuff is no exception. I paired it with another bold piece, this silver and black cocktail ring.

And lastly, my little clutch! When it's not being used as a clutch, I acutally use this as a camera case and stick it in my purse. I'm a sucker for (faux) snake skin!

Cardi: Old Navy (No longer available)
Tank: Dorothy Perkins (No longer available)
Jeans: Hydraulic via Macy's
Shoes: DSW
Cuff: Sister's jewelry box ;P
Ring: Re/Dress
Clutch: Anne Klein via TJ Maxx
Sun glasses: Cole Haan via Syms
Polish: Nars Jungle Red
