You asked...

I answered!

If you had to choose between Forever 21 and Torrid, which would you choose and why?

I'd definitely choose Forever21! I love that because of their great prices, I can try out trends without breaking the bank. They're always coming out with pretty dresses I can't resist, and it's a great place for funky accessories :)

What do you think the fall trends will be? I'm pretty much done with my summer shopping and I was trying to find some fall pieces early.

I think a lot of the things we're seeing this summer are going to translate very well into fall. Stripes for one, I can see still being a big trend. I myself have bought a few pieces including a blazer, and I plan to rock them into winter!

Neutrals are another trend I think will continue into the cold weather. Taupes, soft pinks, tans, greys, especially in sheer, flowy, feminine fabrics.

Fall for me is all about rich colors and fabrics. Switch it up with some colored bottoms in a deep jewel tone!

Have a question for me? Shoot me an email, or ask on Formspring!

It's the final countdown!

My laundry situation has been a bit dire as of late and I've been doing a lot of outfit repeats, which is why it's been a bit quiet as far as OOTD's go. Mom's in Greece at the moment so it's just been me and the old man at home. Any laundry I've gotten a chance to do has been dad's work clothes, so I happily said yes when he sent me to buy a few toddler outfits as a gift for a family member's kid. Old Navy was the perfect spot - good prices, plus I could browse for myself as well as the little one (can you blame me?).

Shopping for little kid's clothes is almost as much fun as shopping for myself! I had a blast picking out tiny little khakis and doll sized checkered button downs. That kid's gonna be best dressed on the block! This floral number caught my eye as I shopped and it couldn't have been a better match with these pink flower sandals.

Time has flown by and I find myself with just a week to go until vacation. I am so excited I can hardly contain myself!!! Are you going/have you gone anywhere on vacation this summer?

Redo

IMG_5105IMG_5093IMG_5103IMG_5088IMG_5115

Rushing to take pictures in crappy weather sure does no favors for the quality of my photos! But it's been a few days since I've gotten a chance to take some pics and I wanted to get these up for you all :)

You've seen this top from ASOS Curve before, and it's styled pretty similarly as well; I just changed up the jewelry and the shoes. I really want to pair the wrap top with a skirt but I have yet to find one that works. 'Til then, looks like this baby will continue to get the denim treatment!

Happy birthday Steph!
110 out there? Arctic office still calls for long sleeves.

It's been an interesting (and delicious!) last few days!

Ok, I'm obsessed with stripes.

IMG_5065IMG_5025IMG_5062IMG_5072IMG_5050

If you follow me on Twitter, you may have seen me tweeting away excitedly about my stripey bargain finds at Talbots on Tuesday. Well, here's one of them! I featured the dress version of this top on my "If I Had a Million Dollars...Talbot's Edition" post a month or so back. I scored this green and cream striped top for $15; retail price is around $60 I believe. Apparently it was my lucky day, because the dress version (in cream and brown) was there too and I took it home for $39 (retail $134)!

Shoes: Franco Sarto via ideeli

It was heart-wrenching to leave this jacket behind, but even on sale for $63 from $169, it was a tad pricey I just couldn't justify it having purchased the other pieces.

The craziest part is that this is a 14WP and it fits perfectly! Talbots definitely runs large when it comes to blazers, though I found their pants to run true to size.

Random, but I love this silhouette pic I snapped yesterday. I felt like Beyoncé! LOL!

Déjà vu

Do you guys remember this zip up dress from ages ago?

Well, Forever 21's brought it back again, this time in black (and in what looks like a slightly shorter length).

It's a steal at only $24.80!

For sizing reference, I'm wearing a 2x above :)

Another day, another maxi

IMG_4979IMG_4981IMG_4971IMG_4970IMG_4975

Another day, another blue maxi dress. Seems I have a penchant for these, doesn't it? It was cool enough today to throw this light cardigan over the dress, making it a wee bit more office appropriate, though how office appropriate can you really be when wearing a dress fit for the beach and bright orange sandals? But I digress.

I took these photos around the back of my local Goodwill, where I picked up a cozy purple wrap sweater and a great light weight tweed cropped jacket for a song. The little Spanish man digging through the dumpster a little ways away gave me a few funny looks as I snapped photos of my self...but dude, you're digging through a dumpster - who are you to judge?!

To each his own, I say.

A perfect pair

EBEW: Thrift

IMG_4911IMG_4923IMG_4930IMG_4926IMG_4932

I have to say, this is probably one of my favorite outfits I've ever posted on the blog. And it's funny, because this is not the type of ensemble I really wear on the regular nor one I would think I'd fall in love with. Maybe it's the colors (I do have a thing for blue), or the fact that the flowers on the top match so perfectly to the print on the skirt (how did I never see it before?), or how the pattern repeats again on the necklace. Whatever it is, this one's a winner for me.

IMG_4951IMG_4959IMG_4961

The last time I wore this skirt, it was in a completely different way. Which do you like better?

In other news, I've had this belt for probably 3 years, and this is the first time I'm wearing it. Touche.
