Office Remix

Just because I work in an office doesn't mean that I'm going to conform to the ol' "skirt, slacks, button down" uniform you see on most people in cubes. Working at a newspaper, I do have a lot of lee way as our dress code is pretty casual, so sometimes I like to mix up my work staples to give them a little funk.

This slouchy sweater from ASOS Curve is one of my favorite purchases of the season so far. It's only midway through October and I've already worn it a million times, and in many different ways - it's so versatile! You can keep it casual with jeans, a cute tee and flats, or it's super easy to dress up too - One of my favorite ways to wear it is belted over a dress. Here I paired it with a tunic-length button down, leggings and boots. This is a perfect outfit for work for me, especially because the sweater keeps me warm in our ARCTIC air conditioning. I don't have all that many button downs because my chest makes it really difficult to find ones that fit properly. This one is great because it has seaming at the bustline that give it a much more feminine shape. I still had to pin the placket between the second and third button so it wouldn't gape, but I don't think its too obvious.

Tribal

Thank goodness for a nice day! It's been raining non stop here and I thought I'd have to do pics inside again. Fortunately I caught the last bit of sun!

Monocromatic outfit today. Though I like to wear a lot of color, it's not usual for me to be in all black or black and white. Dunno why - maybe my subconscious is stuck on that old "black is slimming" idea.

There was a time, probably around 13 or 14 years old, that I actually had to ban myself from buying black, red or grey! My closet was full of it and I knew I needed to change it up.

I had a red sweatshirt that I wore to DEATH back then! To this day, if I find myself wearing jeans and a red sweatshirt of some sort, I still feel like I'm back in those years.

But on to the present! Today I'm wearing a cute printed tank with a old black cardi from yearssss ago. Hard to tell but it's got black sequin detail around the front collar and shoulder. The jeans are Hydraulic skinnies, though by the stretch in these things I'd say they're more like jeggings - they're from last year, so I guess no one was calling them that yet. They're super comfy in anycase, even if the wash isn't my favorite. I definitely want a pair of black jeggings, and maybe a pair of dark wash ones as well. I love wearing them with heels, especially my go-to patent peep toe pumps.

I love silver jewelry and this bold cuff is no exception. I paired it with another bold piece, this silver and black cocktail ring.

And lastly, my little clutch! When it's not being used as a clutch, I acutally use this as a camera case and stick it in my purse. I'm a sucker for (faux) snake skin!

So, it's my first post!

It's my first post, and I hope you enjoy it! This is a quick outfit I threw together this morning. It was one of those days. You know the ones - where you stare at your overflowing closet, but still have nothing to wear. So this is what I came up with.

One of my favorite summer dresses paired with leggings to "fall" it up, and peep toe flats in lieu of the boots I wish I could have worn on this muggy day. I like the shape of this dress; the empire waist works on me, and the length is perfect with or without leggings, it hits right at the knee - Just enough skin when I choose to go bare legged.

I love the beading on the neckline. So bright and cheery!

RINGNAILS

And of course, two of the things you'll never see me without - at least one ring, and manicured nails. Click here for more info about the polish I'm wearing!

I haven't quite decided how I'm going to layout outfit pics. I feel like this little collage is a cute idea, but the pics are too small. I'll experiment as I go I guess. Let me know what you think!
