Today I grabbed one of my casual summer dresses and took it to winter time. I layered it over a long sleeved black tee and topped it off with this scarf, which has been a favorite since I picked it up in Old Navy about two years ago. It's easy when you just want something to throw on, but it still looks bright and fun. Looking at these pics, I'm thinking the skinny gold belt I wore with the American Rag dress would have been cute with this too...oh well.
Despite all the fashion jewelry I have, I always seem to drift towards a few pieces over and over. This disc ring is one of them, and the over-sized rhinestone earrings are another. They're just so sparkly! Who could resist?

On to the boots!

The only other thing I'd say is that they run a bit big. I'm a 9-9.5 and ordered the UK7, but I definitely could have sized down to the UK6. I think a big part of it is that Evans shoes are wide width and my feet aren't really all that wide. I'll keep that in mind for next time - I've ordered boots from Evans twice and have yet to be disappointed.
If you follow me on twitter @fatalefashion, you know I finally got my hands on those Steve Madden Korset boots I was lusting over! Well, they finally came today and are just perfect!! Can't way to show them to you :)
Hey Gemma Southgate of Fat Frocks, and Courtney of Courtney Wore It! Great to see you here!
Besides the fact that they took almost a month to get to me, I love these boots from Evans. They're a faux suede fabric with a modest spike heel. My calves measure about 17.75" and the boots zipped, but were snug in the calf when I first put them on. I knew they'd stretch out, and after two wears, I was right and now they zip quite easily and comfortably over my calves. They look very sleek on and have just the right amount of slouch. I wouldn't recommend wearing them in rain or snow though as the sole isn't that thick and the fabric will likely get soaked.

Super cute outfit! Those tights are really fun! I love the scarf too! And those boots are too awesome! I've done some online window shopping at Evans before but I've been unsure about ordering them due to having no clue what my UK shoe size would be, and not trusting size conversion charts! And those Steve Madden Korset boots rock too! What a shoe day! :)
ReplyDeleteYour scarf and tights bring in the sprig of colour to spruce up the outfit! Lovely!
ReplyDeletehello! :) I'm off to get some evans boots today, the Cardiff store is great and I think I might get these http://tinyurl.com/27yqgeh.
ReplyDeleteI usually get the E width and not EEE. So nice to get shoes that don't hurt!
Thanks for the shout-out! I really enjoy reading your blog!

Thank you Courtney and Merry Traveler! @Gem, they don't see to off the E fit online, I could only order the boot in EEE fit...I wish I was able to go visit the acutal store!
ReplyDelete@Matt, oh yes, it was QUITE the shoe day :) The size conversion charts are pretty accurate, so I wouldn't hesistate to order. Just know that Evan's shoes are designed to fit a wide foot, so if yours aren't they'll be roomy on you.
Ooohhhh- SOOO cute! I'm llving that entire outfit, the ring and the boots, etc. Great post :-)
ReplyDeleteHoly hotness, lady! I swear you are so creative and those boots are incredible. The tights, too! I can NEVER find tights that fit comfortably in all the right places.
ReplyDeleteOh, those boots are the bomb!! Love your accessories!

ReplyDelete@fashionmomma These tights are Worthington I believe, but the comfiest ones I own are HUE :)
I hear ya on the jewelry. I have so much, but honestly I just wear my engagements ring and matching earrings most the time. I love taking summer clothes and making them wearable for winter!
ReplyDeleteI can see why you come back to this ring--it's lovely! Love how the burst of color of your scarf and tights accents the black. Pretty!
ReplyDeleteI looove the Christmas-y/wintery look of black and red! I am not daring enough to wear red tights, but you look great in them!
