First of all, I want to say a GIANT thank you to all of my wonderful readers! I hit 200 followers this week on Google Friend Connect, and I couldn't be more excited! I have the Chrdesigns giveaway going on right now (have you entered?), but I am planning another big one (or perhaps multiple smaller ones!) next week! Stay tuned!
These pics are from a day or two ago, and it wasn't until I sat down to write this that I realize I forgot to take a pic of my favorite part of this outfit! This top not only had a deep scoop in the front (my favorite sort of neckline), it's also got an even deeper scoop in the back! I love a low cut back, it's a sexy way to show some skin without being obscene (especially since I wore this to work!)
Could my legs be whiter?? I'm pretty sure they glow in the dark! And now they are COVERED in mosquito bites from standing in the grass for ootd pics. Grr!
I got these shoes last week from H&M - can we say buyer's remorse?? They're so cute on but let me tell you, they are UNCOMFORTABLE. tight in the front but too loose in the back, so my feet squish forward and the front cut of circulation to my toes, while the back of my heels slip out while I walk, making these pretty much unwearable. Good thing I picked up these adorable nude wedges from ideeli for $6 (using some credits I had)!! I hope they fit better than this unfortunate pair!
Top: Old Navy
Skirt: Need to check on that, I've had it for years!
Wedges: H&M
Necklace: F21 (sold out online)
Ring: Vintage
Made another fantastic recipe off of Skinnytaste this week...this tasty chili was lunch and dinner for me for two days and I enjoyed every bite! Definitely recommended!
WW progress: This week's weight in, -3lbs! Total loss: -7.4lb.

Hot Hot Heat
And no, I don't mean the basketball team. I mean literal heat. Because it has been hot!
Nothing like a breezy maxi for those scorching days! This skirt is actually a dress, which I ordered from Dorothy Perkins a few months back (it's actually still available, on sale, up to a UK18/US14). With a navy v-neck tee layered over it, this outfit has become one of my favorites. I love the boho vibe and it's easy and super comfortable to wear. The length is definitely long but I don't mind, I love the way it swishes around my ankles as I walk.
Out come my turquoise Forever21 pendants again; I've been wearing them nonstop. They've become a summer staple as far as jewelry goes.
Maxi Dress: Dorothy Perkins
Tee: Gap
Sandals: Target
Sunglasses: Target
Round Pendant: Forever21
Nugget Pendant: Forever21
These OOTD photos were probably the quickest shoot I've done to date - why you ask? Here's why:
My dad fancies himself a beekeeper. Seriously? Bees are non conducive to my photo sessions!

Style Challenge - Maxi Skirt
We've all done it: we go shopping and fall in love with a piece, bring it home, and then have no idea what to do with it or how to style/wear it. I know it's happened to me before! Reader Emily wrote to me with the same problem regarding the tiered ombre maxi skirt from the new Calypso St. Barth for Target Collection. Emily writes:
This maxi is such gorgeous color, especially with the ombre fade, and even though it seems daunting I really think the possibilities can be endless for this skirt. My first idea was to pair the flowy skirt with a floral top, since florals are such a big trend for spring (aren't they always?). Cinch your waist with a belt to create a blouse-y silhouette, and top it off with a cropped cardi in a bright color like this coral for arm coverage as well as warmth.
On the other side of the spectrum, I liked the idea of giving this very feminine skirt more edge by pairing it with this neon leopard print tee, which just so happens to match perfectly. Bring in some of the darker turquoise shade with a belt (I especially like the hardware detail on this Moschino belt, though it's well out of my price range) and voilà!
Mixing soft and hard, or feminine and masculine is a fashion trend that I've always liked, and I tried to bring a little bit of that in here with a chambray button down and a sequined top. You could wear the chambray buttoned or open and belted over the tank, or ditch the belt and tie the bottom of your shirt in a knot cowgirl style (an inexpensive alternative to this J.Crew button down is this one from F21+)
Or, you could take a page out of Lexy from The Curvy Chronicles' book: wear your maxi skirt as a midi dress! Hike the skirt up around your girls like a tube top, belt, and top with a gorgeous chunky sweater/cardigan, like this gorgeous teal number from Miss Selfridge that leaves me weak in the knees.

"I bought this maxi skirt yesterday at Target, and I'm having a really hard time coming up with something to pair it with on top. A little about me: I am a size 16, I live in Minnesota (so I'd love to have layer-able options for this -- the weather can change from 45 to 85 degrees in a heartbeat here), and I am not a fan of showing my upper arms. I think that last part is what's causing my struggle to come up with cute outfits. Anyway, if you have a sec to make some recommendations, I would really appreciate it!"I did a bit of pondering (and a lot of playing around with Polyvore), and here's what I came up with:
