Local Treasures - CatMooreDesign....and Giveaway!

Today's piece from CatMooreDesign is the last in this series of Local Treasures, and the most appropriate, in my opinion, for this time of year.

FF0111HEART1

Behold, the Cupid's Heart Knotted Necklace! Besides being gorgeous in general, it's just so perfect to give or receive as a gift for Valentine's Day (this is the part when you send this link to your significant other with the subject line "HINT HINT!")!

FF0111HEART2FF0111HEART3
FF0111HEART5FF0111HEART4

I fell in love with this necklace the moment I saw it - there's just something about the big nugget stones that made me catch my breath. I love how organic they are; all different sizes, some perfectly clear, some a little cloudy, and the weight of them when you put this on just feels so rich and luxurious. Of course, Cat included the matching earrings for me, which I adore. The pretty little stones, just as organic looking as their larger counterparts, on the delicate gold chains of different lengths are the perfect compliment to this statement piece.

FF0111HEART6

This wouldn't be a CatMooreDesign if there wasn't something interesting going on with the clasp. True to form, the Cupid necklace has this beautiful heart toggle clasp that you can wear in the back, or as I prefer it, on display in the front. I do wish that the necklace was a little longer, but that's the beauty of handmade jewelry - most designers are able to do customizations since they're making the pieces themselves.

Don't forget to visit Cat at her Etsy Shop, or "Like" her on Facebook for special discounts, updates, and first looks at her new pieces!

Ok, full disclosure here: Along with lending me this whole kaboodle of gorgeous stuff, Cat also provided me with one necklace to keep or give away. And let me tell you, I've been battling with myself hardcore whether to keep it all to myself or to put it up for grabs. But because I love you guys so much (for realsies), and because I want one of you to get a chance to see Cat's beautiful design up close and personal, I've decided to suck it up and giveaway this gorgeous lil' bauble:

This is a version of the Champagne Smokey Topaz Wire Wrapped Necklace, but in blue, with Cat's signature pretty clasp. What more can I say but I want it, I love it, but I love you more!!

Rules:
1. You must be a follower. Please leave a comment with your name, Google Friend Connect name, and an email address.

That's it! But of course, there are some options for extra entries (one extra entry for each one you do). Please leave a separate comment for each additional entry.

1. Follow me on twitter @fatalefashion and RT this message:  "I <3 @fatalefashion and CatMooreDesign! That's why I've entered the CatMooreDesign giveaway! http://tiny.cc/kmd9t" - Please leave your twitter name or the link to your tweet.

Local Treasures - CatMooreDesign

Big statement necklaces aren't the only thing Cat of CatMooreDesigns can do. Here are two of her daintier pieces, which would be perfect when you're looking to compliment to a chic and sophisticated outfit.

FF0126114

This is the Venetian Glass Wire Wrapped Copper Princess necklace. Cat used vintage venetian glass beads and draped copper chains to create this pretty piece, which I think has a very Victorian, regal feel to it.

FF0126112FF0126113

This necklace would be perfect for a classy event where you don't want to be too over the top with the color and sparkle. Of course, Cat finished it off with a pretty clasp, which I find sort of a trademark for her. There's always something interesting going on at the back of her necklaces!

FF0126115

Here's another dainty little necklace that I just adore.

FF0124111

This is the Gold Filled Gilded Garnet necklace. It has such an organic yet feminine look, I love the wire wrapped top, and the delicate gold chain completes the look. Again, special little detail at the clasp - these tiny textured gold beads are so pretty that I will there were more of them!

FF0124114

I would love to see this necklace as a larger pendant as well! Think a larger stone, about 2 inches maybe, on a 20 or so inch gold chain? And how great would they look worn together?

Stay tuned for the last of Cat's jewelry tomorrow! Don't forget to visit her at Etsy or on Facebook!

Local Treasures - CatMooreDesign

Another day, another beautiful piece to show you all from Cat of CatMooreDesign. This is one of my favorites of all the pieces Cat lent me.

I mean, really. Need I say more? Blue. Gold. Crystal. CHAIN! Oh, Cat. You had me at hello!

FF0125116
FF0125115FF0125117

Oh, the chain. The chunkiness of it is such a nice contrast to the femininity of the beautiful drop crystals in two shades of blue. And again, such pretty touches with the crystals at the clasp - I love special details like this because they're like an extra little surprise that no one but you will really see - like having a bright, colorful lining on the inside of a bag or lining a jacket.

FF0125118

And matching earrings for this one as well!

If you love Cat's designs as much as I do, please don't hesitate to visit her Etsy shop, and stop by her Facebook page for special discounts and news!

Local Treasures - CatMooreDesign

Well, hello! I hope you all had a lovely weekend! I've got a picture-heavy post for you guys today, so here's a quick recap of Friday's outfit before we get into the good stuff :)

FF0121112FF0121111

It's been one of those weeks  - tons of stuff in my closet, nothing to wear (and let's not talk about the fact that my closet has collapsed...long story) - so I threw together this little number because I've been wanting to wear this stretchy black skirt I picked up at Macy's for a while. It's just a basic, nothing special, but I wanted to wear it in a way that was casual rather than dressed up. That's why I paired it with this gray tie-dyed tee from Target that I've had for ages, gray tights, my Evan's boots, and a long black sweater from H&M - another oldie but goodie.

The real star here though is my necklace - a loaner from the lovely Cat of CatMooreDesign.

FF0121113

I discovered Cat's shop while browsing on Etsy one day. Etsy, if you've never visited, is an online marketplace which hosts thousands of shops selling handmade and vintage items. I'm a sucker for handmade jewelry hand have ordered from various different sellers there. Cat's beautiful jewelry caught my eye, and after a few messages back and forth, we discovered we both lived in NJ, and funnily enough, would both be attending the same hockey game last Thursday! We made a point to meet up, and Cat was nice enough to lend me a few pieces of her handmade jewelry to share with all of you!

FF0121114

I'm wearing the Monica Crystal Quartz Cluster Wire Wrapped Necklace. This piece is so up my alley - the silver links and gorgeous crystal drops are delicate while still making a bold statement. Even with my bad quality outfit pics above (sorry about that, I don't know what's going on there!), you can still see the necklace and especially the crystal drops sparkling through the blur.

FF0121115

FF0121116

I think what I was most impressed with while I was trying on and snapping pictures of Cat's jewelry is her attention to detail. For example, even the clasp of the Monica necklace is beautiful - the tiny crystal beads are a extra special touch that not every designer would include.

FF0121117

I'm so glad that I got the chance to meet Cat and chat for a few minutes, because she is sweet as pie and absolutely adorable. She went to undergrad at Rutgers Mason Gross, and then moved to Brooklyn for a few years to attend grad school at Pratt and to work. She came back to her Jersey roots last fall after meeting and moving in with the love of her life :) Aw! Such a sweet story!

FF0121118

And she does matching earrings as well! These are delicate enough that wearing both the necklace and earrings together isn't over powering, though of course they are both beautiful on their own.

For the next few days I'm going to be featuring a few more of Cat's pieces from her Etsy shop CatMooreDesign, so stay tuned! You can also visit her on Facebook - If you "Like" her page, you get a 10% Fan Discount! It's also a great way to keep up to date on upcoming events, book a home show, to make a custom order for weddings or gifts, and to hear about Cat's seasonal sales, promotions and coupon codes :)
