A new species discovered...Arianis Bloggeristrus

IMG_6221IMG_6215IMG_6217IMG_6219IMG_6218IMG_6225

The nonstop rain we've been having here in NJ has turned my backyard into a veritable jungle. Standing there in my bit of leopard print, I have to say, I felt right at home!

My red skirt from F21+ continues to be one of the best $7 purchases I've made all year, and I was happy to step away from my usual red/black/white combo by pairing it with this shimmy bronze tank and a touch of sheer leopard. I've had this button down from Old Navy for ages but always have trouble styling it. I know, I know - leopard, sheer; what's the problem? Well I figured it out, for today at least, by simply rolling the sleeves and twisting the front into a knot for a high-waisted look.

Are you surprised to see my nude Bandolino's make yet another appearance on the blog? They've been my footwear of choice for the past three OOTDs and many unblogged outfits in between. I just can't contain myself!

Button down: Old Navy
Tank: Lane Bryant
Skirt: Forever21+
Pumps: Bandolino via Lord & Taylor
Ring: Vintage via La Casita
Necklace: Gifted
Bracelets: Syms, Brooklyn Flea, F21

Thanks to the BF for being my photographer for these photos, even though he insisted on cutting off my feet in half of them ;) Gotta keep training him I guess!

Oh, and don't miss my LucieLu Giveaway!

Sweater Weather

IMG_6167IMG_6136IMG_6144IMG_6139IMG_6145

I really love this outfit!  I love this bright peach and purple together, it's such a fun and happy combo. I got these black jeggings off the F21+ sale rack for mucho cheap, and after taking in the waist a bit they fit like a dream. My nude pumps are the Bandolinos I wore to the wedding a few weeks ago; they're so fantastically comfortable that I wear them non stop! And this necklace is one of the reasons I love my local Syms so much - It's Rachel Roy and I scored it for $20!

I'm off to Brooklyn to spend some time with the boy tonight (Υιασου, αγορι μου!), and partying with my sister on Saturday. Any big plans this weekend?

You asked...

 Lauren says:
"Oooh I love that you did a fashion advice post (more please!!)! Any ideas for an upcoming bachorlette party (Oct 1st in DC) where all I currently have in mind is my ASOS Curve black pencil skirt?"
That pencil skirt is the perfect base to build a million different outfits on, and it'll definitely work for a bachelorette party! When it comes to a pencil skirt, I always like to hike it up to make it high-waisted, tuck a in a cute top and belt it for a gorgeously curvy, hourglass shape. I pulled together a few options below depending on how fancy you want to go:

For a more casual party, I love the floral tank or the leopard burn-out tee. With a fun colorful shoe or suede wedge, you'll look funky and put together without being too done up. If you're planning on dressing to the nines, I especially love the gold wrap top or the sequined tank. Add tights, sexy stilettos and a belt to cinch your waist and you'll be a bombshell!

Review: Curves in Motion

Some of you who follow me on Twitter or who have taken a peek at Labor of Loss know that I've been making a point to be much more active and incorporate physical activity into my regular schedule. I don't know about you, but if I'm hitting the gym where there are lots of buff guys and equally attractive women working up a sweat, I want to look as cute as I possibly can in my work out clothes. Sick of heading to fitness classes in leggings and an old t-shirt, I was super excited when Curves in Motion, a part of Swimsuits For All, contacted me about trying out some of their plus size active wear. I couldn't wait to get my digs on and hit the gym!

IMG_6117IMG_6118

I chose a pair of contrasting capri pants and a matching racerback tank. The tank is just a normal cotton tank of medium weight, and comfortable to move around in. It definitely runs small though; I requested the 2x's measurements are listed as 44.5-49" at the bust and 36.5-41.5" at the waist - According to the size chart it should fit with a bit of room as my waist is 38" but it was definitely a little snug. The capris, which are 90% cotton and 10% lycra, fit perfectly, and all the stretch was great as I am usually doing lots of squats and lunges. I know they'll be great for running too as the waist is high enough that there's no muffin top and it sucks everything in.

For the curvy girl who wants to look as stylish at the gym as she does out on the town, Curves in Motion is a great spot to pick up some cute activewear at great prices (the tank I'm wearing is on sale for $2.98!). Just be sure to size up if you're checking out the racerback tank I'm rocking!

You asked...

Gianne asks:
"I need some fashion advice... I just bought these faux leather panel pants from Forever 21+. Any suggestions on what to pair with them??"
I'm a fan of these leggings as well! I like the rocker vibe you get from the faux leather panels, but they're not too over the top - full faux leather pants might be a bit much!

These can be a challenge to style but I think with the right pieces you can dress them down as well as up. I kept all my selections in the Forever21 family, because there's nothing better than looking fabulous for less. I especially like the sheer georgette studded top or purple striped tunic if you're going for a more casual look, or the leopard or sequined top for a night out on the town. Top with your choice of spiky jewelry and fierce heels to complete this edgy look :)

Throwback - Light Denim

IMG_6081IMG_6036IMG_6083IMG_6084IMG_6079

I've been a devout wearer of dark demin for as long as I care to remember; the last time I wore a pair of jeans this light was probably in middle school. But every since my last foray into Talbots, where I tried on a pair of fabulous but pricey wide leg light denim trousers (with the rest of my purchases that day the pants were out of the question), I've been looking for a pair that are a little easier on the wallet - and found them at Forever 21+!

I love how long wide leg trousers/jeans make my legs look, and for the wallet friendly price (I can't remember the exact amount, but they're F21+ - aka around $27 at most), I especially love how great this light pair looks!

IMG_6109IMG_6108IMG_6106IMG_6103

Oh, and if you're looking for a pair of comfy nude pumps, may I recommend this pair from Bandolino? I picked them up to go with the Adrianna Papell dress I wore to a recent wedding, but have been wearing them a lot since. They are SO easy to walk in, and mucho comfortable considering the heel!

Do you rock the wide leg trousers, or do you stick with straight leg or skinnies? What's your favorite style of bottoms?

Yucky.

IMG_5933IMG_5902IMG_5936IMG_5938IMG_5941

First and foremost, let me apologize for the quality of these photos! I forgot just how frustrating indoor pics can be! I suppose I'll need to get used to it with winter and bad weather looming...

But back to the clothes, hmm? I picked up this red pencil skirt at the same time I ordered my polka dot dress - it was another steal for only $10 from Forever21. Yesterday was rainy (hence the indoor pics) and only in the 60's, so out came my very favorite black puff-sleeved blazer - You've seen it before here. Now, one of my very favorite color combos is red, black, and white, so I sifted through my numerous black and white print tops until I came across this sailboat tee, another F21 gem that I usually wear loose.

IMG_5948IMG_5957

I went on a shoe rampage last week, guys. I was trying to find the perfect shoe to go with my dress for last weekend's wedding - never before have I been so challenged by a pair of shoes! I had a vision of some sort of metallic pump, one with a sort of purple sheen to it, not too silver. I went to about 6 different places before I gave up that dream and settled on the nude pumps I ended up wearing. But I spotted this pair of low heeled, almond-toed KensieGirl nude pumps for a steal along the way and couldnt say no. Not to them, nor to the black suede wedges I encountered...
