The colors, Duke, the colors!!!

Remember that old popsicle commercial? No? Oh well.

Yesterday was Everybody, Everwear's neon day, so how perfectly appropriate is this outfit I wore out for dinner and drinks in Hoboken on Saturday? This scarf, which I picked up on a whim at Kohl's, has quickly become my favorite and is practically a staple in my wardrobe at the moment. I'm wearing it right now in fact -  it goes with everything! For those nights when I'm not in the mood to go out in a dress or anything all that revealing, an outfit like this is my go to - A few pops of color, an interesting tank, and a cute heel amp up the funk factor for a basic outfit that looks just as appropriate at the bar as it does at the office (yup, recycled this outfit on Monday!).

I'm BLUE badabadeedabadie...

main 2 3
Get the look: Top, skinnies (similar), scarf, shoes, ring (similar), watch

Rain, rain go away! I managed to snap a few pictures yesterday in a brief reprieve in the nonstop rain we've been having the last few days. It's so depressing! I'm ready for some warmth and sunshine like nobody's business!

These cobalt skinnies from the Gap are my new favorite pants. They're super comfortable, a great length, and surprisingly versatile for such a bright color. I love how they look paired with my Kiyonna top and this great scarf. Who would have thought all these colors would work so well together? I'm seriously contemplating going back for a pair in white...

A little teal never hurt nobody

IMG_6376IMG_6357IMG_6359IMG_6375IMG_6379

Cardigan: Mom's
Top: Old Navy
Crops: Talbots
Wedges: Bandolino via Lord & Taylor
Sunnies: Cole Haan via Syms

Brightly colored bottoms are a big trend this fall and it's one that I am more than happy to follow!

I bought these super soft teal corduroy crops on clearance from Tablots a few months ago and I've been waiting for the weather to cool off a bit, and also to slim down a bit more to wear them. They finally fit! The color is even deeper and richer in real life, and I love how they look with my trusty polka dotted top and a cardigan - casual and cool.

I love where they hit me at the ankle but I go back and forth about the little flair they have going on. I've thought about altering them to make them more of a skinny crop, what do you think? I have the same pants in a brown color so I may alter those and see how I feel about them and then decide about this pair.

Do you believe that I rushed out the door this morning without putting on not one piece of jewelry?? Crazy talk!

Ok, I'm obsessed with stripes.

IMG_5065IMG_5025IMG_5062IMG_5072IMG_5050

If you follow me on Twitter, you may have seen me tweeting away excitedly about my stripey bargain finds at Talbots on Tuesday. Well, here's one of them! I featured the dress version of this top on my "If I Had a Million Dollars...Talbot's Edition" post a month or so back. I scored this green and cream striped top for $15; retail price is around $60 I believe. Apparently it was my lucky day, because the dress version (in cream and brown) was there too and I took it home for $39 (retail $134)!

Top: Talbots
Pants: Michael Kors via Nordstrom
Shoes: Franco Sarto via ideeli
Necklace: Chrdesigns
Watch: Syms
Bracelet: gifted
Sunnies: Target

It was heart-wrenching to leave this jacket behind, but even on sale for $63 from $169, it was a tad pricey I just couldn't justify it having purchased the other pieces.

The craziest part is that this is a 14WP and it fits perfectly! Talbots definitely runs large when it comes to blazers, though I found their pants to run true to size.

Random, but I love this silhouette pic I snapped yesterday. I felt like Beyoncé! LOL!

Now or never

These pictures are not the greatest and there's only a few, but I wanted to get these City Chic pants on the blog. I've had them for a while now and I wear them constantly, but somehow the world seems to be working against me when it comes to snapping shots of my outfits. So here they are in all their glory!

I love these pants. I seriously love them. I wait eagerly for them to come out of the wash every laundry cycle. They're so freaking comfortable and cute to boot. These are my "pajamas to work" pants, except way better looking. Pop on a pair of wedges and top and I easily pass for a put-together individual. My coworkers are so easily fooled! And guess what? They're on sale for $19.99. Did I say that I really love these pants?

Floral explosion

I had some extra time before work today; it was nice to have a leisurely morning for once instead of my usual bum rush out the door. I made myself a tasty omelet and lunch for later, actually applied my makeup at home instead of at work, and stopped at a park around the corner from work to take pics in the pretty morning light.

Did you all have a good Fourth of July weekend? I must say mine was quite spectacular! Friday night was spent at a friend's Poconos lake house, sitting around a fire drinking and chatting. Saturday got a little wild down in Lancaster, PA, where we went to a giant Greek barbeque with my sister's BF's friends. The food...oh the food was phenomenal; roasted lamb on the spit, homemade gyros with all the toppings, steamed crabs, tons of apps and desserts, and more drinks. Best of all was the company, though! This group was so open and welcoming, and I was feeling confident and sexy in a strappy little blue and white sundress. Pics didn't happen but I'll show it to you one day!

So, this outfit is pretty simple and straight forward, but I was feeling amazing in it all day. The super bright colors really boosted my mood, and I can definitely tell that my hard work at sticking to WW and working out is paying off. I can see a definite difference in my silhouette in this form fitting outfit! I was feeling guilty about not tracking and eating and drinking so much this weekend, but I won't let it get me down, I hopped right back on track with Body Pump last night and yoga and round three of C25K tonight. If the scale goes up because of my sins this weekend, that's ok. It's life - I'll just work that much harder next week.

Do you like my little gold rings? They're a find from another awesome Etsy seller, MARYJOHN. I fell hard for her delicate little gold bands and tiny stones. You'll be seeing a lot of these in the future!

Rainbow Brite

And we're back in business! Thanks, Blogger!

IMG_3852IMG_3838IMG_3861IMG_3840IMG_3850

I love this outfit! This tank top is just so fun and bright, and the great thing is that you can pair it with any color - and with the size of my cardigan collection, that means endless possibilities. Today though, I decided to try a different route and paired it with this white lace blazer. I liked the combination of the blazer's texture with the print of the tank.

IMG_3878IMG_3868IMG_3879

It's another (almost) head to toe day as everything I'm wearing with the exception of my Michael Kors pants and vintage ring are from Forever 21+. The tank is a 2x and a tiny bit snug in the bust; I've remedied the usual button gaping with a tiny safety pin. The lace blazer (2x), which I didn't look twice at on the site, jumped out at me in the store and fits to perfection. I never would have though I'd get such a great fitting blazer at Forever 21! It fits over the girls wonderfully, though it is button-less; but that's an easy DIY or quick tailor fix if you really need to button it.

Mint Chocolate

Laundry. It's right up there with dishes and vacuuming on my list of things I loathe doing. But even more than doing laundry, I loathe when I'm down to the dregs of my closet - which is exactly where I'm at right now. The very dregs! That being said, I was pleasantly surprised with how this outfit turned out. Sunshine and gorgeous weather steered me back to my new Michael Kors cropped pants, and I took the opportunity to pair them with this great pair of sandals I scored from Payless. If you see these in your local store, grab them! They're super cute and not nearly as uncomfortable as I thought they would be. For the price you can't go wrong.

IMG_3462IMG_3463IMG_3421

The challenge here was finding a top to pair with my bottoms! When laundry day rolls around I inevitably find myself with a closet full of black, as my bright colors are always the first to be worn. I've had this bronze metallic tank for a while, but haven't worn it lately because of a spot on the front where the metallic seems to have rubbed off. With my fringe necklace covering the imperfection, I reached for the last colorful cardi I've got at the moment, this much worn and beloved chartreuse number. I really love the color combo! It's earthy and organic, while the metallic top and statement necklace give it some edge. Win!

Buzzin' Just Like Neon

IMG_3336

I've been so spoiled with outdoor ootd's lately that it killed me to have to shoot this spicy little number inside! These are the cropped Michael Kors pants I purchased with the gift certificate I won from the lovely Monique of Curves and Chaos. With the $79 price tag, they're a splurge I never would have made with my own money, but with Nordstrom picking up the tab, why not!

IMG_3325IMG_3349IMG_3337IMG_3326

I'm so glad I picked these up as they are so, so comfortable and cute and will look great remixed a million ways over this spring, summer, and fall. If you're thinking of grabbing these, they do run big - I usually would have gone for the 16W, but after reading reviews I ordered the 14W and they fit perfectly.

IMG_3362IMG_3368IMG_3360

This animal print jacket was an impulse buy from H&M, and I contemplated returning it more than once. Seeing it in these pictures I think it looks really cute and flattering so it's a keeper. This is only a straight size L so I almost didn't even try it on in the store, but it looks great. Forget about numbers, if you don't try it on you'll never know! I paired the jacket and pants with this neon tunic with pearl accents for some color and piled on the pearl accessories. I really like how this look turned out, I can see myself wearing many variations of this to work, out for drinks, or on a nice date with the boy :)
