Just got paid...Thursday morning...

The good people over at ASOS must be stalking me, because how else would they know to send such an inticing, delicious, impossible to ignore email to me on the very morning I get paid?

 And when such a tempting offer stares a girl in the face...what is said girl to do???

To the Big Apple

Guess where I'm going tonight! I'm off to Manhattan to attend an information session at The Fashion Institute of Technology! I've been toying around with the idea of doing a nights & weekends Associates in Fashion Design!

I'm so excited to find out more about the program, and I'm hope hope hoping that I'd be able to take these classes around my current full-time work schedule. Fingers crossed!

Of COURSE I need to look cute walking into a fashion school, so I'm wearing my new F21 dress I showed you guys yesterday. I'll post some pics later tonight or tomorrow of my full outfit :)

Denim and Zippers

My favorite trend of the last season has to be zippers. I love that, if done with taste, they can work on any type of garment. This cute little demin dress by Calvin Klein is no exception.

       

I love that such a simple detail can take something from basic to special. The glimmer of the zip is like jewelry and gives just enough visual interest...but not too much that I wouldn't pair it with one of my favorite silver necklaces!

Today was the first really chilly day of fall, but I couldn't complain as it meant boots, which I've been wearing despite warm weather the past two weeks, were actually weather-appropriate.

Ok, you caught me - zips on my leggings too! Doesn't it match perfectly?

I've found love...

It's almost a crime for me to say that Saturday was my first trip to the Faith 21 department of my local Forever 21, especially because the F21 in question is about 10 minutes from my house. I will cut myself some slack though because, to be fair, making your way through the battlefield that is the Garden State Plaza parking lot tacks on about half an hour of road rage and under-your-breath cursing.

I have to say, I was really and surprisingly impressed! The Faith 21 section was much larger than I anticipated, and the quality and style of the clothes were better than I thought they would be! I snagged this little gem at only $20-some-odd dollars...not bad at all!

I also snapped up another dress, a fitted dusty blue one that had a zip down the front length and a bow on the neckline. Can't wait to show them to you!

Luckily for my bank account, I was in a bit of a hurry (Spesh and I were going to see The Social Network - great movie BTW!) and I didn't get to try on everything that caught my eye. I will most DEFINITELY be visiting F21 again (and again and again and again...you get the picture).

Here comes the bride...

Hey all! It's been a crazy weekend. I was up in Massachusetts from Thursday to Saturday for the wedding of a good friend of mine in college; couldn't believe the day finally came as he's the last person we thought we'd see tie the knot! But it was a great weekend and his bride looked absolutely beautiful :)
